Bridging Two Nations – Daniel Taub

After enjoying a fruitful trade that has formed between Israel and the United Kingdom, man mostly responsible for this is resigning his position. Daniel Taub has been an Israeli ambassador for the last four years, during which the trade between two countries doubled.

Originally born in the U.K., Daniel Taub gave up his British citizenship in order to represent Israel. His strong-minded beliefs led to his move to Israel with his family.

Since then, he has fought through many crises that the country had, and helped his place of birth co-operate smoothly with his current home. Some examples of how these two countries have bridged their many gaps is seen through 300 Israeli businesses that are now set up in the U.K. The trade amounts to $5.5 billion in total. Daniel Taub also recognizes that the Middle East area is a “turmoil”. Working as a diplomat, he attempted to find the positives about the situation, and utilize humility as it is impossible to control the outcome of the events in the Middle East.

Unsupportive of some generalizations that the president Obama has made on this topic, Daniel Taub considered the relationship with the United States very unique. This is mostly due to the fact that the U.S. has supplied Israel with the necessary modern technology in the time of need.

After helping fix the gap that the two of his countries, Daniel Taub still offers some advice to take these relations to the next levels. He acknowledged that the Labour Party in both, Israel and the U.K., might need to work on re-establishing common ground.

As there is a lot of issues where they see an eye to eye, such as the belief in freedom of speech, the position of women and minorities, and attitudes to homosexuals, it should be easy to work together.

Most of all, Taub advocates for a reduction in antisemitism. He crowned his diplomatic career by meeting the Queen of England, and getting a chance to recite the blessing on meeting a monarch.

For the long after someone else assumes his position, he will be remembered as a person that brought two countries together, through progressive views and strong leadership.
