Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund

Before understanding the point of the Lacey and Lacey Frontera Fund, we must understand Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Visually, the hierarchy is made up of a triangle and is sectioned off into various sections, horizontally, going upward.

The sections on the bottom of the triangle represent more immediate needs that must be fulfilled before anything else. As you get more towards the top, the needs are not so immediate, but are still extremely important.

These are the basic categories, going from the bottom towards the top:

  • Basic Needs
  • Psychological Needs
  • Self Fulfillment Need

The basic categories break down further to classify more specific needs.

The breakdown of basic needs is:

The breakdown of psychological needs is:

  • Physiological Needs
  • Safety Needs

The breakdown of Self Fulfillment Needs is:

  • Belongingness and Love Needs
  • ¬†Esteem Needs
  • ¬†Self Actualization

So, basically the hierarchy goes from acute needs of staying alive to feeling good about oneself.

Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey know how important each and every step of the hierarchy is. This is the reason for why their organization, the Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund, is not against giving a kind hand to human beings who need different levels of support following desert crossings into America.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals believes that animals have civil rights, too. Larkin and Lacey have circulated countless amounts of disturbing images of animals being tortured in various ways.

These pictures are not passed around for people who like gore to get off on; they are passed around to shock and educate people about injustices that human regularly commit on animals. These images can be pretty convincing.

PETA members have put on numerous protests over the years, protesting a variety of things: fur, animals being kept in zoos, circuses, eating meat and modifying the bodies of animals. Some people believe that PETA goes too far. Some believe that PETA is right about some things, but perhaps not so correct about others. Read more: Phoenix New Times | Wikipedia

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals provides interesting news stories on their website relating to animals and animal rights. For example, there is a headline story about a Black female singer by the name of Dawn who is urging H&M to stop using real leather.

She posed nude in a picture. In the picture, she is lying on her stomach and making a face of suffering as a man is peeling the skin off of her backside with his hands. The picture is sexy and provocative, yet makes a very real point about the tragedy that occurs to animals all around the world, everyday.

On June 24th, 2017, PETA wrote an article about how a member set up a display on the sidewalk in Washington DC. The member looked like she was a bloody animal corpse hanging on a meat hook with other bloody animal corpses.

The woman did this to protest the Giant National Capital Barbecue Battle. In the photographs of her protest, you can see the intrigued, yet disgusted looks of people walking by.
